On December 22, 2012 at the Rome Opera Theatre Don Quixote, ballet by Ludwig Minkus inspired by the literary masterpiece by Miguel de Cervantes, inaugurates the new 2012-2013 season of dance at the Costanzi.
The world of ballet Has always drew to the events of the famous romance with numerous interpretations: the version made by Marius Petipa and later redesigned by Alexader Gorsky is taken to the Opera Theatre by the Russian choreographer Mikhail Messerer. The notes of Ludwig Minkus are entrusted to the baton of Nir Kabaretti. On stage the Cuban stars Venus Villa and Rolando Sarabia (22, 23, 29 December and 2 January), alternating with the principal dancers of the Staatsballett Berlin Iana Salenko and Dinu Tamazlacaru (27, 28 December), with Alessandra Amato from Rome Opera Ballet and Vito Mazzeo principal dancer at the San Francisco Ballet (December 30, 3rd and 5th January), and with Alessia Gay and Alessio Rezza from the corps de ballet of the Opera (January 4), will revive the troubled love story of young Kitri and Basilio, interwoven with incredible adventures of Don Quixote and his squire, Sancho Panza. The scenes were designed by Francesco Zito and Antonella Conte, costumes Francesco Zito.

Il 22 Dicembre 2012 al Teatro dell’Opera di Roma il Don Chisciotte, balletto di Ludwig Minkus ispirato al capolavoro letterario di Miguel de Cervantes, inaugura la nuova stagione di danza 2012-2013 del Costanzi.
Da sempre il mondo del balletto ha attinto alle vicende del celebre romanzo cavalleresco con numerose interpretazioni: la versione realizzata da Marius Petipa e ripensata successivamente da Alexader Gorsky viene ripresa per il Teatro dell’Opera dal coreografo russo Mikhail Messerer. Le note di Ludwig Minkus sono affidate alla bacchetta di Nir Kabaretti. Sulla scena le star cubane Venus Villa e Rolando Sarabia (22, 23, 29 dicembre e 2 gennaio), in alternanza con i primi ballerini dello Staatsballett Berlin Iana Salenko e Dinu Tamazlacaru (27, 28 dicembre), con Alessandra Amato del Corpo di Ballo dell’Opera di Roma e Vito Mazzeo principal dancer al San Francisco Ballet (30 dicembre, 3 e 5 gennaio), e con Alessia Gay e Alessio Rezza del Corpo di Ballo dell’Opera (4 gennaio), faranno rivivere la contrastata storia d’amore della giovane Kitri e di Basilio, intrecciata alle rocambolesche avventure di Don Chisciotte e del suo scudiero, Sancho Panza. Le scene sono firmate da Francesco Zito e Antonella Conte, i costumi da Francesco Zito.
