Francofilm – Festival del Film Francofono di Roma

From Friday 16th to Friday 23th March 2012 will be held the third edition of Francofilm, the Francophone Film Festival of Rome.

The event, organized by the Institut Français – Saint-Louis Centre of Rome, where the meetings will be held, will give the opportunity to attend screenings of the best films from the countries which adhere to the OIF (International Francophony Organisation), presented by directors and performers.

A jury chaired by Romano Milani, general secretary of the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists, and composed by the producer and distributor Lydia Genchi and Vanessa Strizzi, artistic director of Umbria Film Festival, will judge the competing films in wait of the ceremony. In addition, following each screening, viewers can vote for awarding the winner of the Audience Award.

The opening of the festival, Friday 16th March at 18:30, will be entrusted to music: Balkissa Maïga, actress and singer from Mali, will present the opening concert of guitar and banjo by Akli D, an eclectic Algerian artist often in collaboration with Manu Chao, able to mix Berber rhythms with melodic songs. The final evening of the festival, on 23th March, will be entrusted to the voice of Awa Ly, a French-Senegalese singer which, accompanied by trumpeter Aldo Bassi, will range from blues to French songs, from jazz to rock, before the awaited screening of the winner film.

Dal 16 al 23 Marzo 2012 avrà luogo la terza edizione del Francofilm, il Festival del Film Francofono di Roma.

L’evento, organizzato dall’Institut Français – Centre Saint-Louis di Roma, presso cui si terranno gli incontri, darà la possibilità di assistere alle proiezioni delle migliori pellicole provenienti dai Paesi aderenti all’OIF (Organizzazione Internazionale Francofonia), con la presentazione di registi e interpreti.

Una giuria presieduta da Romano Milani, segretario generale del Sindacato Nazionale Giornalisti Cinematografici Italiani, e composta dalla produttrice e distributrice Lydia Genchi e da Vanessa Strizzi, direttore artistico dell’Umbria Film Festival, valuterà i film in concorso in vista della premiazione. Inoltre, a seguito di ogni proiezione, gli spettatori potranno votare per decretare il film vincitore del Premio del pubblico.

L’apertura del festival, il 16 marzo alle 18:30, sarà affidata alla musica: Balkissa Maïga, artista e attrice del Mali, presenterà il concerto inaugurale di chitarra e banjo di Akli D, eclettico cantante algerino spesso in collaborazione con Manu Chao, in grado di amalgamare canzone melodica e ritmi berberi. La serata conclusiva del festival, il 23 marzo, sarà invece affidata alla voce di Awa Ly, cantante franco-senegalese che, accompagnata dal trombettista Aldo Bassi, spazierà dal blues alla canzone francese, dal jazz al rock, prima dell’attesa proiezione del film vincitore.
