Thursday 19th, Friday 20th and Saturday 21st April 2012, at 21:00, at the Teatro Cassia in Rome, the Aleph Company will debut with the new production Voci – Medea, directed and choreographed by Paola Scoppettuolo.
Freely based on the book “Voci – Medea” by Christa Wolf, the show examines in the evocative space of dance the many facets of the wild and wise soul of Woman-Medea. So many lives in one, so many different modulations of a single voice. The sounds-groans of her ancestral and untamed feminine nature, attentive to the signs of life and their deep connotations of meaning, come back in the memory that comes unexpected and sharp and that imposes itself piercing the present.
The project that the Aleph Society in recent years has carried on with great determination by the staging of performances dedicated to the myth of Cassandra, Orpheus, Ariadne, etc., aims to deepen the roots of contemporary dance, to trace its semantic values and to replace it in its original field, primarily related to the experience of the sacred of which the Myth has recounted the remains.
The show will be repeated on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th April 2012, at 21:00, at the Teatro della Dodicesima in Rome.
Members of the Piroetta Dance School, students attending a dance or theater school and university students will be eligible for rebates.

Dal 19 al 21 Aprile 2012 alle ore 21.00 al Teatro Cassia debutterà la Compagnia Aleph con la nuova produzione Voci – medea per la regia e coreografia di Paola Scoppettuolo.
Il 28 ed il 29 Aprile alle ore 21.00 lo spettacolo sarà replicato presso il Teatro della Dodicesima ( Via C. Avolio 60 – Roma ).
Il progetto che la Compagnia Aleph ha in questi anni portato avanti con grande determinazione (sull’onda di una primitiva intuizione di Forsythe: la coreografia è pensiero) tramite l’allestimento di spettacoli dedicati al mito di Cassandra, di Orfeo, di Arianna ecc. è, appunto, volto ad approfondire le radici della danza contemporanea, a rintracciare le sue valenze semantiche, a ricollocare la danza nel suo ambito originario d’elezione che è un ambito legato, innanzitutto, all’esperienza del sacro, di quel sacro di cui il Mito ha raccontato le vesti tumultuose relative al suo affioramento in superficie. Nel corso del 2012 la Compagnia Aleph intende approfondire ed ampliare questa prospettiva di ricerca tramite, innanzitutto, la rappresentazione di una opera di Teatrodanza dedicata ad una rivisitazione in chiave contemporanea della figura di Medea una rivisitazione in base alla quale sia, infine, possibile riascoltare le voci di una realtà vicinissima, ma ancestrale e pur tuttavia scomparsa, le voci del Mito e, al tempo stesso, della Necessità e del Silenzio.
