Clôture De L’amour

A work on the crisis of a couple, a work on the end of their love story.

Alone in the scene, in a big white room, empty, almost aseptic, a man and a woman face each other in two sharp monologues that will never get to be a dialogue. It’s the man who starts the conversation by reciting a long, full monologue that introduces the audience to the intricacies of his mind, searching for the reasons for the end of his love. The thoughts and words become sharp and sparkling blades, neat and ready to use. Only a few small movements of the hands and body to betray the apparent clarity of his reasoning, as they are lined up the primary and secondary reasons of his disaffection. It is the body that speaks, that holds the strings of this long monologue while the hands, mouth, legs go beyond the stage.

She listens long and carefully, while her thin and delicate body  breathes, touches sharp peaks of emotional tension and then slide back in complete silence. The body and its postures know how to create silence, as quietly ask. It is as if to say, “So what? I’m here, I’m here (despite my silence) to fill your space, I’m waiting and I still do. ” After a long, deep breath she began her reply, and then close it all with a sharp and killer phrase.

Pascal Rambert, playwriter and director of the Parisian Théâtre de Gennevilliers, introduces the audience into a real marathon between fear and freedom, between questions and answers that are concatenated. It is the brutality of a ubiquitous word, the incredible rigors of a cold and sharp writing that expresses the universal force of a play as Clôture de l’amour. There is the masculine and the feminine. There are two eyes, two silences, two dialogues that express in their own words the potential violence of a love that died.

Un lavoro sulla crisi di una coppia, un’opera sulla fine della loro storia d’amore.

Soli in scena in una grande stanza bianca, vuota, quasi asettica, un uomo e una donna si affrontano in due monologhi taglienti che non arriveranno mai a farsi dialogo. È l’uomo che inizia la conversazione recitando un lungo e denso monologo che introduce il pubblico nei meandri della sua mente, alla ricerca delle ragioni della fine del suo amore. I pensieri e le parole si fanno lame taglienti e scintillanti, ordinate e pronte all’uso. Saranno solo alcuni impercettibili movimenti delle mani e del corpo a tradire la lucidità apparente del suo ragionare, mentre vengono messe in fila le ragioni primarie e secondarie del suo disamore. È il corpo che parla, che tiene le fila di questo lungo monologo mentre le mani, la bocca, le gambe si spingono oltre lo spazio scenico.

Lei ascolta a lungo e attentamente, mentre il suo corpo sottile e delicato respira, arriva a toccare acuti picchi di tensione emotiva per poi scivolare di nuovo nel più completo silenzio. Il corpo e le sue posture  sanno come creare silenzio, come chiedere silenziosamente. È come se dicesse: “E allora? Sono qui, sono  qui (nonostante il mio silenzio) per riempire il tuo spazio, sto aspettando e continuo a farlo”. Dopo un lungo e profondo respiro inizia anche lei la sua  replica, per poi chiudere il tutto con una tagliente frase assassina.

Pascal Rambert, drammaturgo e regista nonché direttore del parigino Théâtre de Gennevilliers, introduce il pubblico in una vera e propria maratona tra paura e liberazione, tra domande e risposte che si concatenano. È nella brutalità di una parola onnipresente, nell’incredibile rigore di una scrittura fredda e aguzza che si esprime la forza universale di una pièce come Clôture de l’amour. C’è il maschile e il femminile. Ci sono due sguardi, due silenzi, due dialoghi che  esprimono con le loro parole la potenziale violenza di un amore che muore.
