Young folk singer-songwriter of the Scottish Highlands, Rachel Sermanni celebrate through her voice the mysterious atmospheres and fairy of his land.

Lanificio and  Caracciolo Recreation Club join hardening to host the first headlining tour of Rachel Sermanni, who came to Rome in the past with Fink in the show C(h)orde – Sounds of heaven and earth.

After the artistic debut of ‘My Friend Fire‘ of 2010, released on Communion Records, the label run by Ben Lovett of Mumford & Sons has finally arrived ‘Under Mountains’. Hes first album, came from three years experience “on the road” as a supporter of artists such as Elvis Costello, Mumford & Sons, Newton Faulkner, KT Tunstall, Fink, Michael Kiwanuka, John Grant, Ron Sexsmith and after high-profile festivals such as SXSW, Eurosonic, Great Escape, Leeds and Reading.

Despite her twenties, Rachel Sermanni proves to be an artist with a self-confident personality: grew up listening to the giants of folk, rock contamination of PJ Harvey, the blues of Bessie Smith and the contemporary of Arvo Part and Philip Glass , she is now on the way to a musical career destined to take her far beyond the UK borders.

Giovanissima cantautrice folk delle Highlands scozzesi, Rachel Sermanni celebra attraverso la voce le atmosfere misteriose e fiabesche della sua terra.
Lanificio e Circolo Ricreativo Caracciolo uniscono le tempra per ospitare il primo tour da headliner di Rachel Sermanni, che da Roma passò già con Fink nella rassegna C(h)orde – Suoni tra cielo e terra.
Dopo il debutto artistico di ‘My Friend Fire’ del 2010, pubblicato su Communion Records, la label diretta da Ben Lovett dei Mumford & Sons, arriva finalmente ‘Under Mountains’. Il suo primo album è il frutto di tre anni di esperienza ‘on the road’ da supporter di artisti come Elvis Costello, Mumford & Sons, Newton Faulkner, KT Tunstall, Fink, Michael Kiwanuka, John Grant, Ron Sexsmith e dopo festival di alto profilo come SXSW, Eurosonic, Great Escape, Leeds e Reading.
L’ album di questa cantautrice, che attinge a piene mani alla tradizione dei cantastorie tipica della musica celtica, contiene dodici splendide miniature musicali che rivelano un timbro vocale cristallino, un fingerpickin deciso ed una vena compositiva di spessore, con aperture melodiche all’interno di scarni paesaggi sonori.
Nonostante i suoi vent’anni, Rachel Sermanni dimostra di essere un’artista dotata di spigliata personalità: cresciuta ascoltando i giganti del folk, le contaminazioni del rock di Pj Harvey, il blues di Bessie Smith e la contemporanea di Arvo Part e di Philip Glass, si avvia ora verso una carriera musicale destinata a portarla ben oltre i confini britannici.
