From May 26 to June 24, 2012 at Scuderie Aldobrandini in Frascati (RM) will be held the BACC – Biennial of Contemporary Ceramic Art.
The “sculptures” and installation of the 13 artists protagonists of the BACC 2012, tells, in the exhibition “Materia in Espansione” the journey of ceramics to the nearer world of “art”, interpreting the new condition of ceramics, now far away from the abyss that has traditionally kept separate the reign of handicraft from the art.
The works of the protagonists of the first Biennial of Contemporary Ceramic Art embody a major change in the perception of what ceramics can be and can mean.
Large installations, contamination between different materials and technologies, visionary sculptures, abstracted, to the extreme limit of the seal of technological equipment, are works meant for the prestigious spaces of Scuderie Aldobrandini (renovated by Massimiliano Fuksas) perfect location to host the first edition of the BACC.
Just as the works of selected artists, the Scuderie Aldobrandini are in fact a fascinating blend of old and new, between tradition and innovation.

Dal 26 Maggio al 24 Giugno 2012 presso le Scuderie Aldobrandini a Frascati (RM) si terrà la BACC – Biennale d’Arte Ceramica Contemporanea.
Le “sculture” e le installazioni dei 13 artisti protagonisti di BACC 2012 raccontano, nella mostra Materia in Espansione, il viaggio della ceramica verso il sempre più vicino mondo delle “arti”, interpretando la nuova condizione della ceramica, lontana ormai da quell’abisso che tradizionalmente ha tenuto separato il regno dell’artigianato da quello dell’arte.
Le opere dei protagonisti della prima Biennale d’Arte Ceramica Contemporanea incarnano un cambiamento importante nella percezione di ciò che la ceramica può essere e può significare.
Installazioni di grandi dimensioni, contaminazioni tra diversi materiali e tecnologie, sculture visionarie, astratte, estreme al limite della tenuta tecnologica del materiale, sono le opere pensate per i prestigiosi spazi delle Scuderie Aldobrandini (ristrutturate da Massimiliano Fuksas) location ideale per ospitare la prima edizione di BACC.
Proprio come le opere degli artisti selezionati, le Scuderie Aldobrandini costituiscono infatti un affascinante connubio tra antico e moderno, tra tradizione e innovazione.
