La Festa del Baratto

Torna in Sabina l’arte commerciale più antica del mondo: il baratto. Sarà possibile portare tutti i vostri oggetti a Poggio Moiano, in provincia di Rieti e allestite il vostro banco. Basta svuotare tutto, trovare abiti e accessori che non si usano più e provare a scambiarli con i nuovi oggetti del desiderio. Gli spazi nel centro storico del paese saranno dati gratuitamente a chiunque voglia partecipare, ma con prenotazione obbligatoria. La Festa del baratto sarà un appuntamento fisso a Poggio Moiano, dove ogni terza domenica del mese il centro storico sarà chiuso e dedicato all’evento.

Poggio Moiano si trova su una collina alle falde del Monte Miano, un tempo conosciuto come “Loco Moiano” è divenuto comune già nel 1344. Numerose sono le testimonianze archeologiche nelle zone vicine che fanno presupporre un interesse per il territorio già in epoca romana. Nel suo comprensorio si trovano monumenti di notevole valore artistico, di origine romana e medioevale. Siamo a due passi da Trebula Mutuesca (Monteleone Sabino), nella zona di Vicus Novus, città romana distrutta dai Saraceni e mai rinvenuta e provengono da questo territorio le 98 statue di epoca romana appartenenti alla villa dei Brutii Singulares oggi conservate nel Museo Nazionale di Copenaghen.

Back in Sabina the world’s oldest commercial art: barter. You can bring all your objects in Poggio Moiano, in the province of Rieti and set up your own table. Just empty everything, find clothes and accessories that are not used anymore and try to exchange them for new objects of desire. The spaces in the historic center of town will be given free to anyone who wants to attend, but reservation is required. The Feast of barter will be a regular event in Poggio Moiano, where every third Sunday of the month, the city center will be closed on the event.

Poggio Moiano is located on a hill at the foot of Mount Miano, formerly known as “Loco Moiano” has become common already in 1344. There are many archaeological sites in nearby areas that presuppose an interest on the area in Roman times. In its area are monuments of great artistic value, Roman and Medieval periods. We are very close from Trebula Mutuesca (Monteleone Sabino), in the Vicus Novus, the Roman city destroyed by the Saracens and never found and come from this area the 98 statues of the Roman period belonging to the Brutii Singulares villa now kept in the National Museum in Copenhagen.
